This is what happens any time you play a superhero in a major comic book franchise: No matter the movie that you are trying to promote, you’ll have to answer a handful of questions about the superhero blockbuster that you eventually are going to film (even though cameras don’t roll for months, at the earliest).
Take Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in Marvel’s string of popcorn thrillers. He’s trying to talk to the media about ‘The Iceman,’ a serial-killer-hitman drama that he and Michael Shannon brought to the Toronto International Film Festival. But instead, he has to spend time talking to outlets about his Marvel future. And Evans talks. To his credit, he knows where his bread is being buttered these days. Movies like ‘The Avengers’ and the upcoming 'Captain America 2' allow him to do as many ‘Iceman’ movies as he’ll want for the foreseeable future.

A few days ago, we caught a handful of behind-the-scenes pictures from the Surrey, England set of 'Thor: The Dark World.' Depicting a hectic battle sequence, the images resembled something closer to 'Game of Thrones' than a superhero movie -- and we mean that in the best possible way. (Perhaps it's thanks to director Alan Taylor having helmed six episodes of 'Thrones'?) If those pictures did it for you, then you'll certainly be pleased to see some moving pictures from the set, courtesy of this all-too-brief video captured by Splash News. Check it out after the break.
'Thor 2' (aka, 'Thor: The Dark World') is currently filming in Bourne Wood, Surrey, England and we've got our first shot of the cast involved in what looks to be a massive battle sequence.
Filming on 'Thor 2' (subtitled 'The Dark World') doesn't start for another week or so, and aside from casting news, details have been a little scarce. But we'll take what we can get, which is why we're super excited to show you some new photos of the 'Thor: The Dark World' set.
The beautiful and hilarious Kat Dennings will indeed return for 'Thor 2,' because we know you were all incredibly worried about whether or not she'd come back to adorably refer to Thor's hammer as "meow-meow."
Once Mads Mikkelsen passed on 'Thor: The Dark World,' we've been wondering who will fill his shoes, on top of wondering what character he'd be playing. The answer has been revealed: it's now Christopher Eccleston who will be playing Malekith The Accursed.
So, we were in the audience of the Comic-Con 2012 'Pacific Rim' panel in San Diego this weekend, when all of a sudden we saw (or we thought we saw) Chris Hemsworth walk out onto the stage with Guillermo del Toro!
Though we'll have more coverage of the event as it unfolds, Marvel has been dropping nuggets like crazy at Comic-Con 2012 about 'Thor 2,' 'Captain America 2,' 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'Ant-Man.' Check out what we know, and check out the new art for these titles.
It's a wonderful time to be a Marvel movies fan right now. Everybody checked out 'The Avengers' and it continues to break one box office record after another. So what could be better than that? The monstrous and wonderful box set that will be on its way soon.
Since he burst onto the Shakespearean scene thirty-some-odd years ago, actor/director Kenneth Branagh has been called the second coming of Sir Laurence Olivier by those who know their Shakespeare. Now, they both have something else in common in addition to that whole "capable of performing tricky dialogue from the greatest writer of all time" thing: Branagh is now a Knight of the British Empire. So, next time you run into him, remember that it's Sir Kenneth, thank you very much.
