For as many fans had wanted the character to die, there can be no doubt that 'The Walking Dead' season 3 pulled off its saddest and most shocking death this past season in killing off Rick's conflicted (and pregnant) wife Lori. The surprising development sent Rick spiraling throughout the rest of the season, but we didn't see the real madness until the latest 'Walking Dead' season 3 deleted scene!

It seems those visions of Lori dressed in all white originally took a much more horrific turn, as a new deleted scene 'The Walking Dead' season 3 (via Entertainment Weekly) sees Rick sharing a tender moment with the vision, before Lori turns walker! The ghastly vision of a zombified Sarah Wayne Callies doesn't exactly act the part, but proves quite jarring and a difficult end to an otherwise peaceful encounter.

Of course, cue the conspiracy theorists arguing that a real walker Lori still stalks the prison grounds, as we never quite saw Carl putting a bullet into his mother's corpse, nor the real insides of the walker that supposedly feasted on her. Judging by the fact that Michonne oversees Rick's terrified screams to be in solitude, we're keeping to the surface read of Lori's death and dismemberment. Perhaps you can judge for yourself, by entering our contest for a copy of 'The Walking Dead' season 3 Blu-Ray, and watching the scene again!

While we await the latest details from ‘The Walking Dead’ season 4, the next run of the AMC horror-drama will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, and upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey would also return in season 4 as a series regular, while the series is confirmed to have begun casting three new roles exceptionally familiar to comic fans. Also, Michonne on a horse!
