Even though 'The Walking Dead' season 4 previewed its longest and most epic trailer yet at Comic-Con 2013, we don't quite have a handle on the direction AMC's horror thriller will take this year, compared to the more apparent mile markers of last year's prison-Woodbury arc. Say no more, as AMC and the cast and creators of the hit series have stepped up for an inside look into season 4, and a tease of the big new villains!

The latest look inside season 4 of 'The Walking Dead' doesn't offer anything in the way of new footage, but still features plenty of behind-the-scenes interviews and teases of things to come. For one, Andrew Lincoln (Rick) makes mention that another winter has passed, allowing Rick and his group to consolidate forces within the prison, reinforce the structure itself, and even begin farming to support the larger Woodbury population.

Perhaps most intriguing of all, however, are Lauren Cohan's words that "it's not even the walkers, and it's not even other people this time. There's a whole new threat." Adds series creator Robert Kirkman, "It could be more deadly than the other two combined." And even if walkers aren't the main threat, my, how gaunt they've gotten!

While we await the latest details from the fall premiere, the next run of ‘The Walking Dead’ will introduce ‘The Wire’ star Lawrence Gilliard, Jr. as comic character Bob Stookey, and upgrade actors Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney to series regulars. AMC earlier confirmed that David Morrissey’s villainous Governor would also return in season 4 as a series regular, while the AMC drama is confirmed to have begun casting three new roles exceptionally familiar to comic fans.
