The 'Homeland' star has officially picked up her latest, the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama award for her role as CIA analyst Carrie Matheson, joining her co-star Damian Lewis and the series itself. 'SNL' spoof or no, those bulging eyes and streaming tears have netted 'Homeland' star Claire Danes yet another award for her portrayal of troubled CIA operative Carrie Matheson. Having won an Emmy for the role as well, tonight Danes took home the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama Golden Globe award.
Another strongly contentious category, Danes bested her opposition from the likes of 'Nashville's Connie Britton, 'Damages' star Glenn Close, 'Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery and 'The Good Wife' star Julianna Margulies.
