Hot on the heels of yesterday's character posters, Universal has released the 'A Million Ways to Die in the West' trailer, giving us the first footage of Seth MacFarlane's live-action western comedy -- and it is really, really taking advantage of that red-band warning. There's blood, loads of profanity, and plenty of that crass humor we've come to associate with MacFarlane's endeavors. And Sarah Silverman's playing a prostitute, so you can imagine how that plays out.

The highlight of the trailer seems to be MacFarlane and his supporting players, like Charlize Theron and Liam Neeson, and it's always fun to see them step outside of their more serious roles to have a little fun. Theron especially, who has some serious comedic talent. They're also joined by Amanda Seyfried, Neil Patrick Harris, Giovanni Ribisi, and Silverman in the film, which takes a satirical look at the wild west in the 19th century, where the running gag seems to be that people die ... a lot.

The official synopsis:

After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

The film hits theaters on May 30.
