‘Aquaman’ Gang Gets Together for a Table Read Group Photo

Things are heating up for the Justice League lately. We’ve got two new photos of the team in action (which mainly involves just standing around in costume), and now the Aquaman gang has gotten together for their first reading of the script. Director James Wan posted a photo on his Twitter account of him palling around with Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, and the hero himself, Jason Momoa.

For those of you not in the know, Wilson is set to play Aquaman’s half-brother Orm in the movie, also known as the Ocean Master, a kind of semi-villainous troublemaker who always wants to have the throne of Atlantis all to himself. Heard will be playing Aquaman’s wife Mera, the Queen of Atlantis, who already has a pretty sweet costume. Notably absent from this group is Willem Dafoe, who’s been cast as Vulko, a scientist and politician who often acts as regent of Atlantis while Aquaman’s off with the League battling Darkseid or whoever.

This is the first time we’ve seen the majority of the cast all together, and it looks like Wan is going to make it a fun time for everyone involved. We already know what Heard’s and Momoa’s costumes look like, but I for one can’t wait to see all the armor Wilson gets to have for his Orm costume.

All we know about the plot itself is… not much. Wan has said he wants it to have all the makings of a classic action-adventure-romance, with a little bit of Mad Max thrown in, courtesy of the Fury Road stunt team.
