Given that Jurassic World now has the biggest Friday/opening day box office of all time, it’s no surprise that Universal has sequels in mind. And given Chris Pratt’s current mega-star status, it’s not exactly surprising that Universal would sign the actor for more sequels to their recently revived franchise. But how many sequels are we talking here, exactly? Depends on who you ask.

Jurassic World opened with $64.1 million on Friday, giving it the biggest opening day box office of all time. When you add the overall weekend total of $204.5 million, that puts Jurassic World in second place for biggest opening weekend of all time, behind the first Avengers film, knocking Avengers: Age of Ultron into third place.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Pratt was asked if he’s signed on for more sequels, to which he offered this half-serious, half-joking reply:

I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something.

He’s exaggerating, of course, but with that huge, record-making opening weekend, of course Universal is planning more Jurassic films. And although Pratt is signed on for more, director Colin Trevorrow recently revealed he will not be returning to helm another installment in the franchise. It’s also unclear which of the film’s other leading stars are locked in for potential sequels, including Bryce Dallas Howard and Vincent D’Onofrio.
