Cosplay of the Day: Jaime and Cersei Lannister Rule the Realm

Yes, their love is an icky love, but we're still loving Jaime and Cersei Lannister's cosplaying counterparts in this immaculate 'Game of Thrones' tribute.

It may seem like 'Game of Thrones' cosplay is just one step removed from Renaissance Fair costuming, (okay, so it kind of is) but both require exceptional skill in crafting detailed costumes. Aerial and Cosplayer Strike do fantastic work here as Cersei and Jaime Lannister, respectively, and we have to hand it to Aerial for doing much of the sewing and leatherwork on her own for these elaborate costumes.

Cosplayer Strike notes on his cosplay page that the costumes also involved a lot of brass work -- all of the armor, including the scale mail, is made from brass that was hammered by hand and etched with a special chemical agent. Cersei's belt on Aerial was also made from brass and chain mail, and the designs were hammered in by hand, too. Jaime's coat and pants are largely made of leather and are fully lined to give them that authentic look and texture.
