Very clever, Showtime.  All year long we've been dying for a bit of fresh blood from 'Dexter' season 7.  Sure, there have been some great teasers, and some really exciting castings, but where's the fresh footage?  We know we'll probably get a taste at Comic-Con 2012, but for now we'll have to make do with the brand-new footage from our first real trailer!  Fair warning, you're going to have to put in a bit of effort.

Showtime has unveiled the first official footage from 'Dexter's seventh, and penultimate season, by way of a brand-new teaser!  Of course, all of the footage in the teaser goes by at hyper-speed, but that's what internet trailer nerds were made for, right? In any case, we managed to gleam a few interesting tidbits just by hitting the pause button endlessly.

There's a fair bit of Dexter and Deb talking, which makes a lot of sense given how last season ended.  At the very least, it's nice to know that Deb's making an effort to see things Dexter's way!  Although judging by that creepy shot of Dexter seemingly chowing down on blood-red spaghetti at Deb's place, we're betting Deb is ill at ease around him.

Elsewhere, it looks like creepy Louis Greene will definitely be back and addressed, and there's plenty of shots of Deb and Dexter back on the job, seemingly investigating the burned-down Doomsday Killer church.  And hey, childhood flashbacks!

Apart from the news that 'Dexter's eighth season (2013) would be the last, that's about all we can tell you.   In addition to the recent major casting of ‘Chuck‘ star Yvonne Strahovski as “Hannah McKay,” a woman with a dangerous past who finds herself embroiled with Miami Metro, ‘Dexter’ season 7 boasts some impressive talent, including ‘Luck‘ star Jason Gedrick  as an owner of a gentleman’s club, one which frequently plays host to fellow-cast (and likely major villain) Ray Stevenson, a “high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates.”

We've included the teaser for 'Dexter' season 7 below, so play around and tell us in the comments if you find anything we missed!
