So the Sight & Sound poll was a big deal this week. If you missed it, it's the once-a-decade list of the top 50 films as voted by critics from around the world. But what about directors? We've got a look at the all-time top 10 lists from some of the greats, like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, and more.

In Sight & Sound's latest issue they've got a list of the top 10 films as voted and agreed upon by directors, but the best stuff is the individual directors' lists. The Playlist got their hands on the latest issue, and we've posted some of the best lists below.

What's interesting is seeing how many directors chose the work of other polled directors for their top ten -- you'll see Scorsese's name pop up on several lists from his peers. But these lists also give us a great look at the sort of films that inspire these guys.

It's not shocking to see '8 1/2' on Woody Allen's list, or 'Frankenstein,' 'Freaks,' and 'Nosferatu' on Guillermo del Toro's. Sean Durkin loves 'Rosemary's Baby,' which you can kind of see in his film 'Martha Marcy May Marlene.' Quentin Tarantino usually has the quirkier picks, but his list is kind of amazing, including 'Rolling Thunder,' Tommy Lee Jones' first film and a criminally underseen classic. The real surprise on the list is Michael Mann, who chose James Cameron's 'Avatar' as the fourth best film of all time.
