‘Veep’ Wins Outstanding Comedy Series at the 2016 Emmys
The 2016 Emmy Awards have some outstanding upsets, but there’s always bound to be a few repeats. Once again, Veep has officially taken home the statue for Outstanding Comedy Series, beating out some impressive competition.
Fittingly, Larry David presented the award to his former Seinfeld star and the entire cast and crew of Veep. Producers thanked creator Armando Ianucci (Season 5 was the first without him). Dreyfus also took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy earlier in the night.
Tonight’s nominees included ABC’s black-ish and Modern Family, Netflix’s Master of None and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, HBO’s Silicon Valley, and Amazon’s Transparent, Last year, Veep also took home the honor.
