From the network that brought you Heroes Reborn and Chicago: Surely Are Other Professions We’ve Not Yet Covered, it’s a spinoff of The Blacklist! Yes, NBC has granted an official series order to the Famke Janssen-led Blacklist: Redemption, while the main series itself remains without its co-lead.

NBC confirmed the official spinoff order amid all the madness of 2016 Upfronts, having introduced Janssen’s character “Scottie” in a prior Blacklist episode. The network also locked down the Redemption title, while the full synopsis reads thusly:

The Blacklist: Redemption centers around the “brilliant and cunning” Susan “Scottie” Hargrave (Janssen) who serves as the chief of a covert mercenary organization called Grey Matters. After joining forces with undercover operative Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold), Tom discovers that Scottie is actually his biological mother and goes on a secret mission to learn more about his past.
In addition to Janssen and Eggold, The Blacklist: Redemption stars Edi Gathegi and Tawny Cypress.

Justified alum Michael Dinner helmed the debut episode, while Tom and Scottie’s relationship is said to mirror the mothership’s Liz (Megan Boone)/Red (James Spader) dynamic. The spinoff’s backdoor pilot will air Thursday.
