The Flash has plenty of questions to answer at Comic-Con 2017; most notably how Season 4 will compensate for Barry Allen’s early absence. We’ve heard one theory, but heroic new casting reports may not be so much of a stretch as their name implies.

You’re warned of possible spoilers for The Flash Season 4 from here on out, but where Wally West will more or less take over duties as The Flash this fall, heroes and villains are still in short supply. As such, That Hashtag Show reports three new major casting calls going out; one of which is speculated to be DC’s Elongated Man, while the others fit Clifford “The Thinker” DeVoe and an engineer sub-boss:

[RALPH DIBNY AKA ELONGATED MAN] Male, Mid to late 30s, Open Ethnicity. Think Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt, Ralph has the ability to stretch his body to super-human lengths and sizes…however, while resculpting his old body is easy to do, Dibny finds losing the old misguided sense of truth and slobbery, even after joining the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, is a far more difficult task to accomplish. Will most likely be comedic relief for the season. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR WITH A SERIES REGULAR OPTION FOR NEXT SEASON

[CLIFFORD DEVOE AKA THE THINKER]–Male, 40s-50, Open Ethnicity. After being struck with dark matter from the particle accelerator explosion, Clifford Devoe became a meta-human with a mega-mind. A Stephen Hawking-esque genius who’s devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity. “The Thinker” will embark upon a season long battle with The Flash that pits the “fastest man alive” against the “fastest mind alive.” FRACTIONAL (7/13) ONE SEASON SERIES REGULAR

[THE MECHANIC]–Female, 30s-40, Diverse. A highly intelligent engineer who designs and assembles a plethora of devices for the ailing Clifford Devoe. Devoe’s right hand, she’s the truest of true-believers who’ll stop at nothing to implement his plan to fix all that’s wrong with humanity-even if she loses who she is in the process. MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR

Perhaps worth noting; Elongated Man is distinct from the more-recognizable Plastic Man, though either fit recent suggestions that Season 4 would be casting a CG-heavy character. Not only that, but a fan-favorite Game of Thrones alum reportedly tested for our Think-ing big bad, perhaps indicating a physical type.

We’ll surely learn more at Comic-Con 2017, so stay tuned for the latest details in a Flash.
