These ‘Furious 7’ Facts Move Fast
You surely know that Paul Walker tragically passed away in 2013. But did you know that in order to finish Furious 7 while giving his character, Brian O’Conner, a fitting send-off, the creators of Furious 7 had to use a combination of digital effects and body doubles, which included Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody? That’s just one of the fast facts featured in the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies!
Despite all the outlandish scenes, more of the movie than you would expect was done practically. If you’ve seen Furious 7, you surely remember the scene where Vin Diesel and the rest of the “family” skydive out of a plane in cars. And you might assume this scene was achieved entirely with computer-generated special effects. It wasn’t. In fact, the production spent months planning the scene, and really did drop a bunch a cars out of a cargo plane and film the results. (Diesel and company weren’t inside them, they were added in later with CGI.)
