No doubt one of the most exciting parts will be re-living the climactic George R.R. Martin-penned "Blackwater," particularly its rousing effects and epic battles. We remember watching in awe as a massive green explosion decimated Stannis Baratheon's fleet, but just how did the mystical green blaze work anyway?
While we've seen the effects behind the explosion, a new short from the 'Game of Thrones' season 2 Blu-ray release reveals the historical significance of "wildfire," as told by pyromancer Hallyne (Roy Dotrice). The animated short also explains a bit of the history behind previous kings, otherwise chronicled in George R.R. Martin's actual novels.
