Ghastly and criminal thought it seems that 'Hannibal' won't be able to offer its second course by Halloween, that hasn't stopped NBC's darkly delicious Bryan Fuller drama from conjuring a frightful sight for season 2. The first official teaser poster for the good Dr. Lecter's 2014 return has hit the web, with imagery as sure to haunt your dreams as it gives you pause to set the table.

Via Entertainment Weekly, the first 'Hannibal' season 2 poster drops the pretense Will Graham previously had about his cannibalistic friend, revealing the haunting Wendigo that Will saw in Hannibal's place late in the season. So says creator Bryan Fuller, "his image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season 2.  The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is.” Not to mention, serving tool numerals! Neat.

Along with a confirmed role for 'Sex and the City' vet Cynthia Nixon in season 2, we know series creator Bryan Fuller previously expressed a desire to cast ‘Pushing Daisies’ alumni Lee Pace, Kristin Chenoweth, Anna Friel and Chi McBride, along with music icon David Bowie as Hannibal’s uncle. Fuller previously expressed his intent to feature Raul Esparza’s Dr. Frederick Chilton in a regular capacity, given Will Graham (Hugh Dancy)’s status behind bars, though the actor’s elevation to ‘Law & Order: SVU‘ regular status casts that idea into doubt, similar to Gillian Anderson‘s role in NBC’s upcoming ‘Crisis.’
