We still don’t even have a proper trailer for NBC’s inexplicable Heroes Reborn revival, but once again the super-series has dug deep for an original series cameo. Cristine Rose will reprise her role as Angela Petrelli, though Milo Ventimiglia isn’t likely to join her, and a new leak offers at least some footage of our new Heroes.

E! broke word of Rose returning to the series as Peter and Nathan’s future-dreaming mother, though like a number of her predecessors, Angela Petrelli’s return arc has guest status, rather than series regular. At the very least, the report also rules out Milo Ventimigila’s return as Peter Petrelli, as the actor states “I got a new show on Monday nights called The Whispers and I’m focused on that.”

Ventimiglia also talked some truth on revival culture in general:

I think it’s kind of in the zeitgeist to revive everything and I don’t know how good that is because it takes away from that lightning in the bottle moment where you’re in that period of life where you’re watching something for the first time and you’re experiencing it all that. So to revisit things, it’s like revisiting past relationships or something. It’s like, no, you are who you are nowadays.

So reads the official Heroes Reborn logline:

From original creator Tim Kring, the supernatural phenomenon begins again with a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers. Epic adventures await these newly empowered allies as they cross paths with some of the original characters (such as the beloved “HRG” and fan-favorite time-traveler Hiro Nakamura), unlocking the mysterious fate of the universe and their place within it.

In addition to Chuck / Thor: the Dark World star Zachary Levi, Heroes Reborn boasts among its cast Orphan Black alum Dylan Bruce, Once Upon A Time villain Robbie Kay, Ryan Guzman, Danika Yarosh, Judith Shekoni, Kiki Sukezane, Henry Zebrowski and Gatlin Green. Returning from the original cast thus far are Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Jack Coleman (Noah Bennet), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) and Jimmy-Jean Louis (The Haitian).

Heroes Reborn will premiere on Thursdays this fall at 8:00 P.M., while at least some of the new trailer was caught off-screen for a recent news report.
