Hot off the premiere of 'Only God Forgives' at the Cannes film festival comes word that the film's director Nicolas Winding Refn might be helming the next James Bond film. Does this mean we'll get a little appearance from Ryan Gosling in a future 007 flick?

First Showing interviewed Nicolas Winding Refn at the Cannes film festival in France last week, and when asked about a rumor that he might be directing the next James Bond movie, Refn got a bit coy. He didn't confirm or deny the rumor at all, but his reaction and the big smile on his face, shown in the clip above, seem to indicate he knows something he's not telling.

does know something, however, and took to Twitter to confirm that Refn is definitely one of the directors up for the job:

Variety also reports that
Ang Lee ('Life of Pi'),
Tom Hooper ('Les Miserables'),
Shane Black ('Iron Man 3') and
David Yates ('Harry Potter') are in the running as well, while 'Bond 24' is currently aiming for a 2016 release. Read on for the rest of the original article.]

So while he may not be the man who actually ends up in the director's seat, we do know that Refn is definitely a name that's being tossed about for the next Bond film. If he gets it, Refn will follow in the footsteps of previous directors Sam Mendes and Marc Forster. Though there's also the report going around that 'The Dark Knight' trilogy's Christopher Nolan is also in the mix, he probably won't give up his 'Interstellar,' which already boasts such big-name talent as Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine.
