'Man of Steel' is premiering its first full-length trailer in just a few weeks time when 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' hits theaters on December 14. And while fans having been waiting ever-so patiently for this new footage of Zack Snyder's vision of the Superman story line, we have to remember that this is just the beginning... that is, 'Man of Steel' is just the beginning.

Just as Christopher Nolan launched his 'Dark Knight' trilogy for Batman, this next Superman movie is also expected to launch a new franchise with new adventures for Henry Cavill. The actor signed on for three Superman movies, including 'Man of Steel,' so now the question is: Will part of Cavill's 'Man of Steel' journey take him to the 'Justice League'?

In an interview with the New York Post, both Cavill and Snyder dished about their upcoming film, set to hit theaters June 14, 2013, and where the story might lead. "We approach the film as a single endeavor," said Snyder. "There are a lot of gears that have to turn in the world of commerce and the world of the mythology we create to facilitate more adventures for this character. We’ll see what happens."

However, in terms of 'Man of Steel's connection to the 'Justice League' movie, the director went on to say:

"I don’t know how ‘Justice League’ is going to be handled. Honestly, I don’t. ... But ‘The Man of Steel’ exists, and Superman is in it. I don’t know how you’d move forward without acknowledging that."

When pressed even further about Warner Bros. and 'Man of Steel' branching off into a larger Superman universe, he said:

"Um, how can I answer that? ... I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course."

While the team is rightfully focusing on the one project in front of them at the moment, we're already hoping that more Superman adventures are on the way, or are at least being thought up. As for 'Justice League,' the film is currently planned for a summer 2015 release and will follow the teaming up of classic DC comic book characters Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash. Armie Hammer is rumored to be up for the part of Batman after Nolan's 'Dark Knight' concluded with no plans for making a comeback, so perhaps 'Man of Steel' will be the first pre-'Justice League' movie to introduce us to this new DC superhero world.

What do you think? Do you think Henry Cavill's Superman will make a nice addition to the 'Justice League' team? And what about additional movies based off of 'Man of Steel'? Give us your theories in the comments and be sure to check out the previews attached to 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' for your first look at the new 'Man of Steel' trailer.
