The secret is out: Pedro Pascal is not always the man inside the Mandalorian costume, and we don't know how to feel about this. In a recent interview with Vulture, Bryce Dallas Howard shares her experience directing an episode of The Mandalorian titled "Sanctuary."

But, she couldn't attest to working with Pascal because, well, he wasn't there. “He was in rehearsals for King Lear on Broadway," Howard explains. "And so, while we were doing my episode, I wasn’t working with Pedro.”

It's not uncommon for actors to have body doubles on set. But what's so unique about The Mandalorian's titular character is that his entire character is built only from voice and body movements. When Pascal isn't behind the suit, it's most likely stunt double Brendan Wayne, who has been working on the show all season and will continue to do so in Season 2.

But then how does the Mandalorian's performance stay so consistent? Pascal and Wayne have conversations about how the character should move, asking each other: "Why did you move like this during that moment?" Their collaboration ensures that the Mandalorian moves seamlessly from episode to episode.

The Mandalorian has become a hit for Disney's new streaming service Disney+ for several reasons. The rise of Baby Yoda is an obvious one, along with the joy that comes from waking up every Friday to new Star Wars content.

But less immediately apparent is the sex appeal the masked Mandalorian exudes, despite having never taken his helmet off once in the series so far. Yes, the Internet has dubbed the Mandalorian as a bonafide space hunk. So it's totally understandable if you feel a little slighted that the Mandalorian isn't exactly who you thought he was.
