Just yesterday we were bemoaning that 'Masters of Sex' season 2 wouldn't arrive on Showtime until likely September, but the premium cable network has surprised us with an early climax (come on, we had to) for its period sexuality drama. 'Masters of Sex' will partner with 'Ray Donovan' season 2 this summer, leaving 'Homeland' season 4 to make some new friends this coming fall.

Where 2013 saw 'Dexter''s final bow moved up to the summer to help launch 'Ray Donovan,' while 'Homeland' similarly boosted the September premiere of 'Masters of Sex,' season 2 of the Michael Sheen-Lizzy Caplan drama will premiere on Sunday, July 13 at 10:00 P.M., just after the season 2 premiere of Liev Schreiber's Hollywood fixer tale.

Just yesterday, 'Masters of Sex' season 2 added 'The Michael J. Fox Show' castoff and 'Breaking Bad' vet Betsy Brandt as Masters' new secretary, earlier casting ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ star Keke Palmer in the recurring role as the Masters’ new nanny. Meanwhile, Nicholas D’Agosto’s ‘How I Met Your Dadcasting supposedly won’t gravely impact his role in ‘Masters of Sex’ season 2 (which still shoots before ‘Dad’ can be taken to series). 'Ray Donovan' too has added its own 'Michael J. Fox' star, that of Wendell Pierce.

Unexpected, but exciting news for 'Masters of Sex' fans, so what do you think? Tell us what you want to see from the Showtime drama's early arrival on July 13 in the comments!
