The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding very fast.

The latest news, via The Hollywood Reporter, is that Ms. Marvel is the next hero headed to the MCU — on the small screen.

With Captain Marvel flying high on the big screen, Marvel Studios is now focusing on its other marvelous heroine, Ms. Marvel. Marvel is developing a live-action series for Disney+, its upcoming streaming service, based on its acclaimed comic Ms. Marvel, hiring British writer Bisha K. Ali to write and act as showrunner. Ali is a comedian who is currently a staff writer on Hulu’s remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Ms. Marvel was the original code name of Carol Danvers before she became Captain Marvel. (She had like 10 other code names in between, but those are the two that matter. The current Ms. Marvel is Kamala Khan, who is Marvel’s first Muslim superhero. She’s a teenager who lives in New Jersey; her powers include the ability to change the shape and size of her body. Kamala was created by writer G. Willow Wilson and several editors and artists, and the Ms. Marvel series has won many awards and been among the biggest new characters Marvel’s launched in recent years. The character’s an obvious choice for a TV series.

Disney+ launches on November 12. The big Disney+ panel at the D23 expo is tonight — so we’ll get lots more details on what’s coming to the service very soon.
