‘Preacher’ Season 2 Hits the Road With June Premiere, First Photos
Just yesterday we learned some of the famous faces to stand with AMC’s Preacher in Season 2, but what of the core trio? Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy are back in the first new photos, also declaring a June premiere ahead of this weekend’s SXSW presentation.
AMC released the first official photos from Season 2's road trip to find the Almighty, which itself will kick off on Monday, June 19. The newest synopsis, however, isn’t giving up any major plot details just yet.
The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, is a genre-bending thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
Joining the cast of Preacher Season 2 in unidentified roles are Game of Thrones alum Noah Taylor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Pip Torrens, and Fargo alum Julie Ann Emery as series regulars. Recurring roles will feature Timeless star Malcolm Barrett, Homeland alum Ronald Guttman, and Justin Prentice.
In the meantime, Saturday’s SXSW presentation will feature “an exclusive first-look at season two, featuring executive producer Seth Rogen, executive producer and showrunner Sam Catlin and co-executive producer and comic book writer Garth Ennis.”
We’ll learn more of Preacher Season 2 tomorrow, but check out the photos above and stay tuned.
