Showtime’s ‘Billions’ Will Show You the Money For Season 2

It’d take quite a flop for hotshot premium cable dramas not to earn a Season 2 pickup these days, and Showtime’s Billions isn’t exactly hurting for cash. Following a major debut for the network, the high-stakes financial drama has been confirmed for a second season to air in 2017.

The pickup wasn’t entirely unexpected for Showtime, given that Billions premiered to 6.5 million viewers across multiple platforms, after releasing its premiere online weeks early. The series has aired two episodes to date, alongside the sixth (and similarly renewed) season of Shameless.

Showtime’s Billions sees Homeland and Band of Brothers star Damian Lewis in the role of the hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod, going up against politically savvy U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades, as played by Paul Giamatti. Also present are Malin Akerman, Sons of Anarchy star Maggie Siff, Daredevil baddie Toby Leonard Moore, Breaking Bad alum David Costabile, and Condola Rashad.
