‘SNL’ Firms Up Kevin Hart Hosting, Blake Shelton to Follow
‘SNL’ closed out 2014 with Amy Adams’ moderate follow-up to season 40 breakout Martin Freeman, simultaneously announcing ‘Get Hard’ star Kevin Hart as the first host of 2015. Now, the NBC sketch comedy has announced Hart’s musical accompaniment for January 17, slotting ‘The Voice’ coach Blake Shelton for some surprising double-duty the following week.
As revealed over the NBC wire, Sia will act as the musical guest for Kevin Hart’s ‘SNL’ return on January 17. The following weekend of January 24 will see Shelton making his debut on the sketch-comedy mainstay, acting both as the host and musical guest. Shelton’s ‘Voice’ co-star Adam Levine acted as the musical guest with Maroon 5 as recently as Sarah Silverman’s September 2014 hosting gig, with Levine also hosting back in January 2013.
‘The Wedding Ringer’ star Hart last hosted back in 2013 with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis acting as the musical guests. Meanwhile, we’ve curiously yet to hear any real development on the forthcoming three-hour 40th anniversary special, which itself will air on Sunday, February 15.
Well, what do we think? How does ‘SNL’'s 2015 beginnings look, under the likes of Kevin Hart, Sia and Blake Shelton? Give us your picks for future season 40 hosts in the comments!
