For a film we know next to nothing about, 'Snowpiercer' certainly sounds cool. In fact, it sounds like on the most promising films of 2013 and it's legitimately frustrating how little we know about the movie itself and the plans for its release. Some new promotional images (cleverly displayed as passports) have arrived and while they don't fill in too many blanks, they give us a picture of what may be the best ensemble of the year.

Each image (which we first posted over at Movies.com) shows off a passenger on board the Snowpiercer, a futuristic train powered by a perpetual motion engine that endlessly circles the Earth, keeping its inhabitants safe while the planet endures a second Ice Age. However, conditions on board the train have led to all kinds of trouble and a revolution has begun to brew...

How cool is that concept? And how cool is it that it's directed by the great Korean filmmaker Bon Joon-ho, whose 'The Host' (the awesome monster movie, not the recent "Twilight'-y debacle) and 'Mother' are some coolest genre experiences in recent years? What's most impressive about this post-apocalyptic sci-fi movie is the cast, which is a who's who of international names. You've got movie stars like Chris Evans. You've got luminaries like John Hurt. You've got tremendous character actors like Ed Harris and Octavia Spencer. You've got the impossible-to-categorize Tilda Swinton. You've got great Korean actors like Song Kangho and Ko Asung. You've got Jamie Bell! It's kind of overwhelming.

'Snowpiercer' should arrive sometime in 2013. Check out those images below.
