Director Bong Joon-ho isn't exactly known for portraying humanity in the most positive light, and the new international trailer for his latest feature, 'Snowpiercer,' finds his outlook just as thrillingly dour as ever.

Bong's English-language debut adapts the French graphic novel 'Le Transperceneige,' which imagines a future in which global warming has triggered a new Ice Age, forcing humanity to seek shelter in a train whose annual trip around the globe is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. It's a cool premise for a dystopian sci-fi flick, but it comes with a twist: the people on the train have been segregated along class lines, with the ruling elite (led by an all-but-unrecognizable Tilda Swinton) riding roughshod over their less-fortunate brethren.

Naturally, a revolution is in the offing (don't Swinton and her pals understand that you've got to keep the common man distracted with television and video games? Sheesh), and it's led by the best possible guy: Chris Evans, on loan from 'Captain America' as a beanied 'n' bearded member of the greasy proletariat, incites his fellow downtrodden to band together and upend the system.

Class warfare isn't the most inherently cinematic of subjects, but Bong recognized the story's genius decision to tell the story on a train, which bottles up the drama and lends itself to some sweet action sequences -- some of which are teased in the above trailer. Check it out, and keep your fingers crossed for an imminent US release date.
