I’m going to assume you have already watched the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer one or two trillion times. If you’re the last person on Earth who has not watched it, though, here it is:

Much of the action in the trailer is set on the same remote planet where Daisy Ridley’s Rey finds Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker at the end of The Force Awakens. But there are several shots featuring various ships cruising along the surface of a new planet, kicking up red dust from the ground. What’s going on there?

Last Jedi director Rian Johnson revealed a few details about this new Star Wars location to Entertainment Weekly. This planet, it turns out, is known as “Crait.” More details, via Johnson and EW:

It’s way out there. It’s uncharted. It’s a mineral planet and so there are mines on it ... [Crait is home to] an old Rebel base there that’s now abandoned.

Johnson also explained that those skimmers we see in the trailer are Resistance fighters who end up playing a “key role” in The Last Jedi and show up there to “deal with a very pressing and immediate [situation].” I mean, obviously. It’s Star Wars. If there wasn’t pressing and immediate stuff going down, the stars would not be at war. Still, it’s a cool visual and a cool new setting for new Star Wars adventures.

Crait makes its big-screen bow when Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in theaters on December 17.
