Darth Vader Strikes in 'Star Wars Rebels' Season 2 Trailer

Thanks to computer animation’s relatively quick turnaround, Star Wars Rebels will already bring us “The Siege of Lothal” on June 20, picking up Season 2 with Darth Vader (James Earl freakin’ Jones!) firmly on the hunt for the titular Ghost crew. The latest trailer for Season 2 has arrived, along with a new character piece exploring the return of Ahsoka Tano.

Where Season 1 of Star Wars Rebels drew primarily from Ralph McQuarrie’s iconic concept art, some of the Empire designs of A New Hope are firmly on display with the newest Season 2 trailer, including Darth Vader’s famous TIE fighter, and some early A-Wings. Joining Jones’ dulcet Darth return, the newest spot also affords us a sample of Sam Witwer returning to the role of Emperor Palpatine, commanding Vader to begin the siege of the Rebels home planet.

In addition to the return of Clone Wars favorites Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano and Hondo Ohnaka, the second season of Star Wars Rebels will also pave the way for an episode penned by Star Wars: Rogue One screenwriter Gary Whitta. Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, will also lend her voice to an unknown role, speculated to be that of a young Princess Leia.
