Love the character and franchise built around space-faring antihero Riddick? Then you might be excited to hear there's a new video game in the works continuing the flesh out the story of man who once escaped from Butcher Bay.

In an interview right here on ScreenCrush, Vin Diesel broke the news about the development on a new Riddick video game. "My die-hard gamers want Tigon Studios to deliver the third chapter in the Riddick game," Diesel said. "We just, over the past couple of months, reassembled that team from Starbreeze that brought Escape from Butcher Bay to create the third game."

Starbreeze Studios most recently released Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Payday 2, but fans have always had a special place in their hearts for the Riddick series. There's no telling how long it will be until we actually get to see some progress in this untitled Riddick game sequel, but fans will undoubtedly be happy. The first two entries were both critically lauded, so it stands to reason a third entry would follow suit as well.
