As Joss Whedon gets closer to finishing the script for 'The Avengers 2' (officially titled 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron), the supporting cast of previous Marvel films are wondering whether they'll get a chance in the ring. For one, Cobie Smulders' Agent Maria Hill seems like a lock, and now the actress has stated that Marvel knows she'll return once again.

Smulders made her debut as Hill in the first 'Avengers' movie, but she has since reprised the character for Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series and will again in the upcoming 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' in 2014. Given her standing on the S.H.I.E.L.D. team and with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, it comes as no surprise that she'll have some part to play in 'The Avengers 2.'

Speaking with the Calgary Herald, Smulders said:

I think I’m in 'Avengers 2,' but it is very top secret. ... I hope I’m in 'Avengers 2.' I didn’t get my invitation yet. Well, actually, they know I’m in it but they don’t know to what degree I’m in it.

'The Avengers 2' will introduce two brand-new members to the superhero team, the siblings Quick Silver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), whose presence is an exciting aspect for Smulders. In addition, James Spader has been announced as the voice of Ultron himself, who Whedon teased is the perfect villain to break the Avengers.

'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' is slated to start production early next year for release on May 1, 2015.
