The Flash’ has had himself a decent holiday break, picking up ‘Spartacus’ vet Liam McIntyre days before winning an official season 2 renewal, but things will go downhill quickly for the Scarlet Speedster’s January 20 return. Our first photos from 2015 premiere “Revenge of the Rogues” have arrived, and both Captain Cold and Heat Wave don’t exactly look like the play-nice types.

Barry’s going to need himself some new threads after battling ‘Prison Break’ stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell in their ‘Flash’ guises of Leonard Snart and Mick Rory, as the combined ice and fire team thrash all uniforms, police and super alike. Eddie and Joe do their best against the pair as well, using some of Cisco’s tech as shields, but they’ll also have to contend with a hostage in the mix, judging by the latest trailer and synopsis.

From The CW’s official description of 2015 premiere “Revenge of the Rogues”:

WENTWORTH MILLER AND DOMINIC PURCELL (“PRISON BREAK”) TEAM UP AGAIN AS CAPTAIN COLD AND HEAT WAVE CHALLENGE THE FLASH TO AN EPIC BATTLE

Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) returns to Central City with a new hotheaded partner in tow – Mick Rory AKA Heat Wave (guest star Dominic Purcell). The duo plan to steal a multi-million dollar painting, but Cold has another agenda while in town – to set a trap for The Flash. Snart and Mick kidnap someone close to The Flash and threaten to kill them unless The Flash shows up for a battle of fire and ice. Barry tells Joe (Jesse L. Martin) he isn’t sure he should take on Snart again after the casualties that happened the last time they fought.

Meanwhile, Barry asks Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to help him double his training efforts so he’s ready for the Reverse Flash when he returns to Central City. Iris (Candice Patton) deals with the aftermath of Barry’s confession, and Cisco makes the CCPD a new shield.

While Barry continues to track down “The Man in the Yellow Suit,” the DC drama’s 2015 return will also see ‘Smash’ star Andy Mientus debuting as DC’s Pied Piper, ‘Tomorrow People’ star Peyton List portraying Captain Cold’s sister, and even the original Trickster, Mark Hamill himself reprising his role for a new generation (wouldn’t be the first time).

Take a look at ‘The Flash’'s 2015 return in the photos above, and give us your “Revenge of the Rogues” predictions for January 20 in the comments!
