A recent featurette for The Peanuts Movie showed off the hard work that went into keeping the new film’s animation faithful to the original comic strip, and you can see that in the latest trailer for the movie, which features Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang in their first big screen outing.

The second trailer for The Peanuts Movie once again utilizes The Who’s great “Baba O’Riley,” but it’s contemporary hip hop tracks like DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win” that already make the film feel dated. It’s not clear if these songs are actually used in the film, but pop music places the Peanuts in a certain era when they should feel timeless. I get the need to appeal to a modern younger audience, but it just seems kind of…off.

At any rate, the latest Peanuts adventure sees Charlie Brown dreading the arrival of a new kid at school and eager to make a good first impression (spoiler: he doesn’t). He also meets Snoopy for the first time, and the two pals find themselves heading off on dual adventures:

Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace! – embarks upon his greatest mission as he and his team take to the skies to pursue their arch-nemesis, while his best pal Charlie Brown begins his own epic quest back home.

The Peanuts Movie was produced by Paul Feig and directed by Steve Martino (Ice Age), and hits theaters on November 6.
