‘The Simpsons’ Reveal New ‘Family Guy’ Crossover Photos, Plus Ullman “Treehouse of Horror?”
Fans of either 'The Simpsons' or 'Family Guy' have divided over the latter's upcoming "Simpsons Guy," ranging from "I smell another cheap cartoon crossover" to "freakin' sweet," but nothing will stop the inevitable clash of peach and yellow. See for yourself with a brand-new gallery of photos from 'The Simpsons' upcoming 'Family Guy' crossover, along with some retro details of this Halloween's upcoming "Treehouse of Horror" installment!
While Comic-Con 2014 gave us a full five-minutes of the upcoming September 28 crossover, including what brings the Griffin family to Springfield, [REDACTED] in the first place, TVLine put forth a full 13 new images of the iconic crossover. In it, we see many of the Simpsons handing out with their respective family counterparts (though curiously pairing Chris with Maggie and Bart with Stewie), before Homer and Peter get in an epic fight that takes them all the way up to Kang and Kodos.
As if that weren't enough crossover to enjoy (don't forget "Simpsorama"!), Entertainment Weekly also unveiled new details of the October 19 "Treehouse of Horror" installment, one segment of which will see the Simpsons coming across the ghosts of their former selves, or rather as they appeared and sounded in the original Tracey Ullman shorts that birthed the series. Says Al Jean of the family's past-blasting encounter:
It was really funny to get the interplay [between the two versions of the Simpsons] and for the actors to see the voice evolution. The great thing is we didn’t have to ask—we already had the cast hired for the Tracey Ullman Simpsons...
We’ve implied that [the original Simpsons] were murdered and buried under the house, so this is expanding that thought. If people want a real Halloween bloodbath, they get it.
Well, what do we think? Crossover or no, does 'The Simpsons' have its best season to date on deck? What about 'Family Guy,' who hosts the long-awaited meeting of FOX's famous cartoon families?
