FX’s ‘The Strain’ first played things close to the chest with some clever viral teasers, but the second season of Guillermo del Toro’s vampire horror-thriller will be all-out war. Watch New York burn as millions of Strigoi overwhelm the living in our first look at ‘The Strain’ season 2!

“The battle has begun,” warns David Bradley’s Abraham Setrakian in the first spot from ‘The Strain’ season 2, as overhead images show the infected attacking the Statue of Liberty, then Manhattan itself. “An evil is spreading…changing the human race, literally turning us into monsters. We must fight, all of us, fight to save our civilization. Fight, or die.” Just then, the Master shows off a nifty new new trick.

Elsewhere, relatively little has been revealed of ‘The Strain’ season 2, though we know the new summer run will pick up with Eph (Corey Stoll) and Abraham’s near-defeat of The Master, weakening, but not stopping the spread of vampirism in the city. New aspects of the series will include the vampire hunters seen throughout the first season, literary characters Quinlan and the masked luchador Angel, as teased by del Toro at Comic-Con 2014. Additionally, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’’s Max Charles will replace Ben Hyland as Zach Goodweather, owing to more complicated storylines to come for the character.

You can check out the further spread of ‘The Strain’ in the teaser trailer above, and tell us what you want to see when season 2 infects FX this summer!
