A next-generation sequel for the Tomb Raider reboot is currently in development. We personally can't wait to see how awesome Lara's hair will look in this one.

The news of this sequel was part of a note from Phil Rogers, CEO of Square Enix on the European Square-Enix blog. Rogers offered a look at what the company's working on for the future and lists a few games that are in production for next-generation consoles, such as Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn and Kingdom Hearts 3.

Rogers then said, " I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently!"

Thought it may have only been a brief mention of the game, it's good to know that they're already hard at work on bringing us more of Lara's adventures. It'll be interesting to see what the focus will be on, now that she's a little more battle-hardened and we've moved past the whole "survivor" motif.

Let us know what you'd hope to see in a Tomb Raider sequel in the comments below! We'll keep you up to date and inform you if and when Square Enix or Crystal Dynamics announces anything formal regarding the sequel.
