Reboots have become an inevitable part of movies, and while we can pretty much understand rebooting franchises like 'The Mummy' or even giving Anne Rice's 'The Vampire Chronicles' another go, do we really need to reboot the 'Underworld' franchise so soon? Apparently we have our answer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an 'Underworld' reboot is most definitely happening whether you want it to or not, and Lakeshore Entertainment has already hired 'Priest' screenwriter Cory Goodman to write the screenplay. When you watch 'Priest' you definitely think, "Hey, this is a movie made by someone who has definitely seen 'Underworld' several times," so at least this reboot has that going for it.

Unless it's not even really a reboot and just a tricky word to make us want to see more of these movies.

The original film hit theaters in 2003 and spawned three sequels, the last of which -- 'Underworld: Awakening' -- was released in 2012. That was only two years ago. Two years. But apparently two years is all it takes for a studio to think it's a good idea to reboot a franchise that wasn't even that awesome in the first place. Maybe next we can reboot 'The Amazing Spider-Man.'
