You wouldn't think a suburban drama about a widow taking up marijuana sales would prove chock-full of mystery, but here we are after eight seasons of 'Weeds' cliffhangers.  So with the series finale in sight, what future mysteries does Showtime hold for the Botwin clan?  At least one piece of the pie is yet to be filled in as 'American Pie' and 'American Reunion' star Natasha Lyonne will appear in the two-part series finale in a mysterious new role.  Who is she, and why all the secrecy?

The Hollywood Reporter claims that former 'American Pie' star Natasha Lyonne will guest in the hour-long series finale of 'Weeds,' wrapping up its eighth and final season on Sunday, September 16.  Though Showtime is keeping most of the details under wraps, we know that Lyonne's character will be named Tiffani.  Yes, with an "I."

Showtime certainly isn't saying much about the hour-long episode itself, either, but series creator and show-runner Jenji Kohan assured reporters at this week's Television Critics Association press tour that the show wouldn't end on one of its trademark cliffhangers.  Rather, the finale will "tie up many loose ends and feature a memory lane of past characters."

Even series star Mary-Louise Parker says of the hour-long closer, "[Kohan] managed to bring things together in a really beautiful way.  "She didn’t make it a happily ever-after thing. But there was hope and there was some sort of benediction. I cried when I read it. I think the finale is beautifully written and I hope it lives up to what she wrote.”

What say you?  Are you curious to see what kind of role Natasha Lyonne will play, or are you just sad that 'Weeds' is ending period?  Give us your thoughts on the series, or its final episodes in the comments below!
