This post contains a SPOILER for Avengers: Endgame. Pretty much exactly the one the headline promises it has.

One of the more discussed moments in the Avengers: Endgame trailer was the appearance of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye — who’d been completely absent from Avengers: Infinity War — training a young woman in archery. The only shot of Clint Barton and the mystery woman was from a distance, so it wasn’t entirely clear who he was with. The two prevailing theories were either Hawkeye’s now-teenager daughter (his secret family life was revealed in Avengers: Age of Ultron) or a Marvel character named Kate Bishop, an archer who adopted the code name Hawkeye during a period when the original comic-book Hawkeye had died (he got better). She then became a member of a group known as the Young Avengers.

Marvel, as you would expect, said nothing about this scene. (Or, y’know, any scene in the movie. That’s what they do.) But the studio recently updated their press site with 15 new official high-res images from the film — including one of the shot of Renner’s Hawkeye (AKA Clint Barton) and that archery lesson:

All of these official images have captions that tell you who is in each photo, so that editors who are using these pictures in magazines and newspapers can properly credit the actors when they use them in their publication. And the one for this image reveals pretty definitively who is in this picture. Here is what it says:

Sophia Russo, by the way, is Endgame director Joe Russo’s daughter; she previously had a small role playing a teenage girl in Captain America: Civil War. And given that, my guess is this really is Clint’s daughter, and this character only makes a very brief appearance, perhaps even in a flashback. Presumably, if this young woman was Kate Bishop — or if the Russos were tweaking Marvel continuity and turning Clint’s daughter into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s version of Kate Bishop — they would have cast a name actor for the part.

So there you go. The mystery revealed! Only 6,328 more mysteries left to go. Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26.
