‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Shows Off the Young Mutants in New Photos
Over the last couple of weeks we’ve gotten some sneak peeks at X-Men: Apocalypse via photos in Entertainment Weekly, featuring new characters like Oscar Isaac’s Apocalypse, Olivia Munn’s Psylocke, and Alexandra Shipp’s Storm. But what about the other new, young mutants? 20th Century Fox has released a gallery of high-res photos featuring Jean Grey, Nightcrawler, Cyclops and more.
In the photo gallery above, you’ll find fresh looks at Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops with his signature shades, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and Lana Condor as Jubilee (she looks so friggin’ cute). You’ll also see returning characters like Evan Peters’ Quicksilver, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique (though the actress says she’s more Raven than Mystique this time around), Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, James McAvoy’s Professor Xavier, Lucas Till’s Havok, Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert, and of course Michael Fassbender’s Magneto — who is sporting a nice, grungy look, ready to join Pearl Jam at any moment.
Earlier today, director Bryan Singer teased the possibility of an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover, and it seems we’d likely see the younger cast alongside Marvel’s First Family if that were to happen.
X-Men: Apocalypse introduces the superheroes’ most epic threat yet in the form of the titular Apocalypse (Isaac), who may not only be the oldest mutant, but the first one ever. Recent set photos have teased destruction in Cairo, hinting at Storm’s origin story. And we also know that Storm, Psylocke, Angel/Archangel and Magneto will serve as Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
