As 'Dexter' heads into its likely final season, we have little idea of what to expect from an ultimate ending. The acclaimed Showtime serial killer drama could play out in a number of ways, but will there still be new stories along the way? 'One Tree Hill' vet Bethany Joy Lenz has officially joined the "final" season, but will she end up on, or at Dexter's table? Get the latest scoop on season 8 inside!

'Dexter' fans won't have to wait as long for new episodes this year, debuting early on June 30 to promote Showtime's new drama 'Ray Donovan,' but the upcoming season may well prove the show's last if CBS head honcho Les Moonves is to be believed. Even if 'Dexter' season 8 proves to be the last however, the Showtime drama continues adding new faces, this time casting 'One Tree Hill' actress Bethany Joy as Dexter's new neighbor Cassie.

As outlined by TVGuide, Cassie appears in the fourth episode of the upcoming season as "an attractive former finance executive looking for a quieter life." Lenz's character will coincide with the appearance of ‘Last Resort‘ star Darri Ingolfsson, who plays a medieval antiques dealer that strikes up a relationship with Dexter's new neighbor.

Elsewhere, ‘Dexter’ season 8 will feature appearances from ‘Entourage‘s’ Rhys Coiro as a bail jumper on Deb’s radar, ‘The Walking Dead‘ star Nick Gomez as a hitman that comes to tangle with Deb, Charlotte Rampling as criminal profiling neuro-psychiatrist Dr. Evelyn Vogel, and ‘The Boondock Saints’ star Sean Patrick Flanery as ex-cop turned private-eye Jacob Elroy.

So, what say you? Are you interested to see what twists Bethany Joy Lenz’s character might bring to the table? Could ‘Dexter’ season 8 be the final year for the series? Give us your predictions for the June 30 premiere in the comments!
