New ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Clip: Zeb Embarasses the Imperials

Now that Disney XD's forthcoming animated 'Star Wars Rebels' series has officially set an October premiere, the crew of the starship Ghost are becoming less and less conspicuous with their heroic efforts. Enter the brutish-but-intelligent, Chewbacca-inspired Zeb, as he single-handedly takes on a squad of Stormtroopers in the newest clip from 'Star Wars Rebels!'

Airing tonight after Disney XD's 'Gravity Falls' (9:00 P.M.), the latest 'Star Was Rebels' shorts "Entanglement" marks the third of four all-new shorts to air on Mondays in promotion of the new series. Following last week's artful TIE fighter assault led by spunky Mandalorian snarker Sabine (Tiya Sircar), today's newest clip features the brutish and brilliant Zeb (Steve Blum) getting in a scrap with Stormtroopers, perhaps enjoying himself a bit too much as wave after wave arrive to settle the dispute.

Premiering October 6 on Disney XD (or earlier), ‘Star Wars Rebels’ features a cast that also includes Twi'lek pilot Hera (Vanessa Marshall), cowboy Jedi Kanan (Freddie Prinze Jr.), the Luke Skywalker-esque Ezra Bridger (Noah Taylor), and cat-like astromech droid Chopper. 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' star David Oyelowo will play the recurring villain Agent Kallus, while 'Harry Potter' baddie Jason Isaacs voices the Jedi-hunting Inquisitor.

Picking up where the canceled ‘Clone Wars‘ left off, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ features on the creative side screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg ('X-Men: Days of Future Past'), who wrote the first episode. Here’s everything we know from the official ‘Star Wars Rebels’ logline:

‘Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.

But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.
