We’re practically scholars when it comes to the art of American Horror Story drawing connections between seasons, but it seems Ryan Murphy intends to draw one big line himself. The enigmatic showrunner teases that a full crossover season between Season 1's Murder House and Season 3's Coven is coming, featuring actors from both years.

Take this with a grain of salt for the moment, as Murphy would only offer cryptic comments at Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest this past weekend, but it seems a future season will bring together both prior years in one. It wouldn’t be Season 7 (nor is it clear if this is the “secret season” Murphy has talked about), but expect something “bizarre”:

We do know what we’re going to do. It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre … There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together … I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in. So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.

In particular, said seasons would mean a return for Murder House stars Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, the latter of whom made a brief return in Asylum. There’s no way of knowing when exactly Murphy plans to assemble said crossover, but how will Murder House and Coven intersect when the time finally comes?
