Crixus and Naevia live! Earlier we'd heard that 'Arrow' season 2 would continue to expand its DC universe with the addition of famed character Amanda Waller, and it seems The CW's casting choice has already been intimately familiar with one of the regulars. 'Spartacus' star Cynthia Addai-Robinson will take the role, but what will Robinson's Amanda Waller mean for the 'Arrow' universe at large?

TVGuide scored first news on the casting, though without mention that 'Spartacus' Addai-Robinson famously played Naevia on the fallen Starz series opposite 'Arrow' regular Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson). It remains to be seen if we'd ever see the pair interact on screen, however, as all of Bennett's scenes to date have taken place in Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) island flashbacks.

'Arrow''s Amanda Waller will appear as a likely recurring role beginning with episode 6,  operating out of A.R.G.U.S. (Advanced Research Group United Support), a famous DC organization featuring in the first season. The comic character famously heads up the "Suicide Squad," which 'Arrow' season 2 will see fit to introduce when Deadshot (Michael Rowe) teams up with new villain Bronze Tiger ('The Dark Knight' star Michael Jai White).

In addition to incorporating Metamorpho, Atom and the Flash, ‘Arrow’ season 2 will pick up on October 9 some time after the events of season 1 finale “Sacrifice,” continuing its ‘Batman Begins’-influenced storytelling with the addition of new villains Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau), Brother Blood (Kevin Alejandro), League of Assassins member Al-Owal (‘Homeland”s Navid Negahban) and DC character Sin (‘The Killing”s Bex Taylor Klaus). Guest stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) and Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) have also been upgraded to series regulars for the second year in Starling City.

Not bad, eh? Amanda Waller has previously been portrayed by the likes of Angela Bassett ('Green Lantern'), Pam Grier ('Smallville') and CCH Pounder ('Justice League: Unlimited'), while Cynthia Addai-Robinson's TV history would likely suggest 'Arrow''s Amanda Waller to be independent of any future cinematic incarnations.
