We'd seen around the web today that 'Arrow' season 2 production had officially gotten underway, in advance of the big Comic-Con 2013 panel next week, but one geek-baiting announcement just couldn't wait. Whedonverse favorite and 'Firefly' alum Summer Glau will recur in 'Arrow' season 2 as a new villain of sorts for Oliver Queen, but what major DC character will she bring to life?

According to The CW, Glau will portray the recurring role of Stellmoor International VP of acquisitions Isabel Rochev, a beautiful and dangerous figure looking to take over Queen Consolidated from Oliver. Interestingly enough, Rochev's name had previously been seen on the CW superhero series as one of the figures in Robert Queen's list of names to who Oliver had sworn to bring justice.

The comic character was frequently seen to wear a mask, though it remains to be seen if 'Arrow''s rendition will incorporate any kind of fighting skills to tangle with Oliver Queen (it's Summer Glau, so bet on it). Rochev also had involvement with Robert Queen ('Homeland''s Jamey Sheridan), and sought to supplant Oliver as the true heir to the Queen corporation.

Elsewhere, 'Arrow' season 2 will pick up on Oct. 9 some time after the events of season 1 finale "Sacrifice," continuing its 'Batman Begins'-influenced storytelling with the addition of multiple new villains to the series. Season 1 guest stars Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak) and Manu Bennett (Slade Wilson) have all been upgraded to series regulars for our second year in Starling City.

We’ll learn more of ‘Arrow’ season 2 from the upcoming panel at Comic-Con 2013, but in the meantime, what say you? Are you excited to see geek goddess Summer Glau go pointed toe to pointed toe against Green 'Arrow'? Tell us what you want to see from ‘Arrow’ season 2 in the comments, after the Rochev photos!
