Bestflix — ScreenCrush’s monthly video series dedicated to finding the best new stuff to watch on Netflix — is back with more recommendations for August 2015. (If you missed May, June, or July’s episodes, it’s not too late to add more great films and TV shows to your MyList.)

This month on the show: Thrill-addicted bomb-disposal experts, Irish darkness monsters, haunted houses, economic despair and South American drug kingpins. That last one would be Narcos, the new original series from Netflix based on the true story of the Medellín cartel. (Also: Don’t forget about Netflix’s other new original series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which just started streaming on the service last week. Having watched that over the weekend, I give it my highest possible recommendation: Seven cans of mixed vegetables up.)

We’ll be back in September with five new recommendations (and probably eight more Netflix original series at the rate this company’s going). Until then, don’t forget to browse the full list of what’s new and expiring on Netflix here at ScreenCrush. (Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends vanishes on August 31 guys, so if you’ve ever wanted to see Spidey tool around with Iceman and Firestar, you best do it quickly.) And make sure you subscribe to ScreenCrush’s YouTube Channel, so you never miss any of the latest episodes of Bestflix, Post Credits, or You Think You Know Movies.
