Since seeing that last post-credits scene at the end of 'The Avengers,' we've been all pining for the goods on 'The Avengers 2' and its presumed villain Thanos.

So far most of our information, at least in regards to the latter, comes from the comics -- Thanos is a member of The Eternals, a group of god-like beings with immense power, far beyond that of humans. Thanos is referred to as the "Mad Titan" in the comics for attempting to demolish the entire human race with his Infinity Gauntlet, capable of manipulating, time, space, reality and even the human soul.

There's also talk that this entity will appear in the upcoming 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' due to an analysis of the comic book plot on which the film is based. All that's left, really, is a high-profile actor to take on this role.

So far, one of the craziest rumors to come out of the woodwork seems to be the one that says action star Arnold Schwarzenegger is being considered for the part. You have comic book creator Jim Starlin to thank for that one. Comic Book Therapy recently interviewed him at DragonCon and asked about who might portray his creation on the big screen.

I had thought about Idris Elba, who is an English actor I always thought about. He is already appearing as Heimdall. There were rumors going around that Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to be tapped for it, which at first I thought was a bad idea but then I caught him in the news since his post-cancer treatment and he has Thanos’ voice. He has this real gravelly voice and he would probably work well. Couldn’t think of anybody else I’d throw out off the top of my head.

We'd be interested to see someone like Tom Hardy, who so artfully took on the role of Bane in 'The Dark Knight Rises,' or Ron Perlman, who already knows a thing or two about playing a beast-like character, tackle this role. But who do you think is worthy to put on the gemmed gauntlet? Vote in our poll below and give us more suggestions in the comments.
