15 ‘Game of Thrones’ Facts That Prove You Know Nothing, Jon Snow
Game of Thrones packs an insane amount of detailed history into every episode of its five seasons, but did you know the entire story of Robert’s Rebellion is told in every opening credits? What about the time Emilia Clarke got stuck to a toilet seat from all the fake blood, or that George W. Bush made an unexpected cameo in Kings’ Landing? These are just some of the facts packed into the first episode of You Think You Know TV?, which heads to the wide world of Westeros with fresh facts about Game of Thrones!
For instance, showrunner David Benioff first read A Game of Thrones in 2006 at the urging of partner Dan Weiss, devouring over 1000 pages in just 36 hours. The pair then met with George R.R. Martin to discuss adapting the books, and the two managed to win over the series’ author by correctly answering Martin’s “test” of identifying Jon Snow’s true mother.
Once HBO got involved, Benioff and Weiss agreed with Martin to have the esteemed writer pen an episode per season, but with Game of Thrones Season 5 now set to overtake the books, Martin relinquished his duties to bring us The Winds of Winter sometime this century.
