Yesterday we learned the admittedly unsurprising news that HBO's 'Girls' was due to receive its very own porn parody, courtesy of Hustler. The HBO dramedy's regular use of explicit material led the director to declare he didn't have to change very much in crafting his parody, but what does 'Girls' creator Lena Dunham have to say on the matter? Check out the latest 'Girls' controversy inside!

For a series as racy, controversial and divisive as HBO's 'Girls,' we were none-too-surprised to learn that Hustler had put together its own porn parody of the series 'This Ain't Girls XXX,' while at the series creator Lena Dunham had little to say on the matter. That all changed this morning, as Dunham voiced her concerns in a series of tweets that explained how a porn parody of her Golden Globe-winning series distorted its message:

Okay, I wracked my brain to articulate why I can't just laugh off a porn parody of Girls and here are 3 reasons: 1. Because Girls is, at its core, a feminist action while Hustler is a company that markets and monetizes a male's idea of female sexuality...2. Because a big reason I engage in (simulated) onscreen sex is to counteract a skewed idea of that act created by the proliferation of porn...3. Because it grosses me out.

Mileage will vary as to whether or not a 'Girls' porn parody inflicts any real damage on the image of the show itself, which has already received its fair share of lampoons and criticisms in its unique take on modern relationships. One of the show's most recent sex scenes between Shiri Appleby and series star Adam Driver already courted a great deal of controversy in a manner that...let's just say "spilled" all over the place.
