Good Night, and Good Luck to you, Godzilla. David Strathairn is coming to kick your butt! The Oscar-nominated actor is in talks to round out the very impressive cast Gareth Edwards has assembled so far for the big guy's reboot; find out who he's set to play after the break!

While details are still slim, Variety has Strathairn playing a "military figure" in 'Godzilla.' You can't make a 'Godzilla' movie without a military man trying to stop the beast's rampage, and Strathairn seems like he's right for the job. Let's not forget he tried to take down Jason Bourne (in 'The Bourne Ultimatum'), and almost succeeded. Perhaps Godzilla will be a little easier to track down.

The actor has been in the business for over 30 years, having appeared memorably in films like 'Good Night, and Good Luck' (for which he received an Academy Award nomination), 'Lincoln,' 'The Firm' and 'A League of Their Own.' He also was a regular on Syfy's 'Alphas' for two seasons.

Strathairn joins Aaron Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche in 'Godzilla,' which is in production in Canada right now. Legendary Pictures is producing, while Warner Bros. is distributing. 'Godzilla' roars on May 16, 2014.
